The program aims to combat learning loss during the summer break while nurturing the social, emotional, and intellectual growth of participants. By funding an array of activities, the program offers opportunities for exploration, skill-building, and connection with nature. From sports camps and arts workshops to science experiments and nature excursions, children can discover their passions, make new friends, and develop essential life skills.

2025 will mark the fourth year for the Summer FUNd. It is making a significant impact on the lives of children from all backgrounds. The success of the program is due to the generous contributions from the two main collaborators, MRVIC and MRVCF, who have a long history of commitment to supporting local families. The FUNd is also supported by the MRV Rotary Club and local businesses and organizations, as well as many local residents and valley visitors. This collaborative effort ensures that funding is available to any child who would like the opportunity to experience a summer camp or program.

The Summer FUNd creates a win-win-win for children, parents, and camps. In addition to supporting families from all four MRV towns, it supported the following local summer camps: Blockhouse Studios, Central Vermont Gymastics Academy, Dandelion and Snail, Dirt Road Theater, Living Tree Alliance, Eddie Merma Sculpture School, Farm and Forest, Fayston Forest, High Country Animal, Highland Soccer, Kids Creation, Livery Equestrian Camp, Neck of the Woods, Sage Mountain, Studio 100 Dance Camps, Sugarbush Day and Golf Camps, The Berry Patch Summer Camp, and Waterbury Recreation.

Summer FUNd Application.

The Summer FUNd is open to all children who reside in or attend one of the local schools in Warren, Fayston, Waitsfield and Moretown between the ages of 4-17. We welcome all inquiries. Full and partial scholarships are available. Patty Giometti will be managing requests in strict confidence.  Please note that camps fill up quickly. Due to high demand, applications will now be reviewed in batches at month end rather than on a rolling basis. Submitting early is encouraged but does not guarantee approval. Please fill out a separate form for each child.

Funding the MRV Summer Fund is a collective effort that showcases the generosity and commitment of the community. MRVIC and MRVCF are the two primary collaborators, with additional funding from the MRV Rotary Club, local businesses, organizations, and individuals. However, applications surpass our financial capacity. Without the generous support from local residents and valley visitors, we would not be able to bridge the financial gap. This collaborative approach ensures that families with limited resources can access the program’s transformative offerings. Together, let's empower local children and create a positive impact that lasts a lifetime. If you are able to make a donation, any amount is greatly appreciated.
